ABOUT

Background & Experience

Brent McLaughlin is a Co-Founder and the Chief Operating Officer at Asylon Robotics. An Oklahoma native and MIT-trained aerospace engineer, Brent co-founded Asylon in 2015 with his classmates Damon Henry and Adam Mohamed.

Before co-founding Asylon, Brent spent five and a half years at Johns Hopkins University where he earned his M.S. in Computer Science while working as an Engineer and Analyst at the University’s Applied Physics Laboratory supporting US defense programs. Since forming Asylon, Brent has transitioned from engineering/technical work to client success and operations. Today, his main focus is on what’s best for the client.

Under his co-leadership, Asylon has achieved 400,000+ combined security missions, 150,000+ miles walked by DroneDog, and 500 patrols per day. He has driven the company to nine FAA Beyond Visual Line of Sight waivers, among the most permissive in the industry, and along with his co-founders, holds multiple patents covering autonomous battery exchange, drone alarm response, and precision landing systems.
