ABOUT

Background & Experience

Adam Mohamed is a Co-Founder and the Chief Technical Officer at Asylon Robotics. An MIT-trained aerospace engineer, Adam is a former rocket scientist applying the most advantageous and cutting-edge engineering principles to drones and other robotics. Adam co-founded Asylon in 2015 alongside MIT roommates Damon Henry and Brent McLaughlin. Today, he leads all of Asylon’s engineering and product development.

Before co-founding Asylon, Adam spent over four years at Boeing, progressing from structural and payload design work on tactical ISR programs to Phantom Works Lead Engineer on Advanced Vertical Lift IRAD projects and Airframe Design Engineer on the SB>1 Defiant, Boeing’s Joint Multi-Role Rotorcraft tech demonstrator. In these roles he learned the fundamentals of how big aircrafts are built and designed, and now applies a scaled-back version to robotics at Asylon.

His philosophies of graceful degradation, vertical integration, and multidisciplinary teamwork have been integral in Asylon’s rapid innovation, top-notch quality, and ascension to a leader in the robotics space. Under his leadership, Asylon has achieved impressive technical milestones including an Air Force funded proprietary precision landing system with 99.9%+ reliability, an Original IR Lock system that achieved a 94% success rate across 20,000 flights, consistent flawless landing in zero-zero visibility conditions, and, Asylon’s first major technical breakthrough, automated drone battery swap.

He holds multiple patents alongside his co-founders covering autonomous battery exchange, precision landing systems, and UAS-UGV integration, and has built Asylon’s engineering organization around a single principle: build products that don’t just work in a lab, but keep working in the field ten thousand missions in.
