ABOUT

Background & Experience

Damon Henry is a Co-Founder and the Chief Executive Officer at Asylon Robotics. A MIT-trained aerospace engineer, Damon co-founded the company in 2015 alongside MIT roommates Adam Mohamed and Brent McLaughlin. Since then, he has built Asylon from an aerospace infrastructure concept into an enterprise platform trusted by Fortune 500 logistics providers, airports, chemical plants, and defense installations.

Before co-founding Asylon, Damon completed GE Aviation’s Operations Management Leadership Program across four supply chain rotations and was promoted to Front Line Manager. He then moved to Boeing where he worked on small unmanned aerial vehicles for the military, including as a Structural and Payload Design Engineer and later an airframe design engineer on the SB-1 Defiant Joint Multi-Role Rotorcraft demonstrator.

With his aerospace engineering background and deep expertise in FAA regulatory frameworks, Damon has led Asylon to secure some of the most complex operational approvals in the drone industry, including BVLOS waivers that are among fewer than five ever issued in the U.S. for operations over people and moving vehicles. Today, Asylon remains the only automated system approved to operate at a major U.S. commercial airport, Memphis International, as part of the FAA BEYOND program.

Under his leadership, Asylon has become a true dual-use company, achieving great success in both commercial and government industries. Asylon has completed over 100,000 autonomous security missions, raised $45M+ in funding, including a $24M Series B led by Insight Partners, and built DroneIQ: the software platform integrating Guardian aerial drones, DroneDog ground robots, and a 24/7 Robotic Security Operations Center into a single managed service delivering $90,000+ in annual savings per robot for enterprise clients.
